A couple small vegetation fires broke out in Sonoma County yesterday afternoon. First was a quarter acre fire on the 7300 block of Valley Ford Road in Two Rock. Firefighters from several agencies responded quickly and contained it. The cause of that fire is under investigation. The second was a 50 by 50 feet grass fire on Montecito Boulevard at Benecia Drive in Santa Rosa. The fire burned in a mowed field with green regrowth which slowed the spread of the fire and prevented any threat to surrounding homes. Firefighters managed to contain it within ten minutes of arriving. There was no mention of a cause there.
