The Healdsburg City Council has re-adopted a hotel ordinance that was initially passed in 2018. It limits all new hotel projects to five rooms. A recently discovered staffing error shows the initial adoption of the ordinance never officially took effect. Healdsburg is required to post notice of new regulations within 15 days of their passing. The 2018 adoption of the ordinance wasn’t announced for 24 days, rendering it invalid. Monday’s vote says ongoing hotel projects are exempt from the rule, as long as their applications had been deemed complete by Monday.
