Santa Rosa Fire Department Expected to Declare End of Fire Season

The Santa Rosa Fire Department is expected to announce the end of fire season today. That’s what Chief Scott Westrope told the Press Democrat on Monday. The declaration will mean permitted burning will be allowed. And, the amount of fire personnel and equipment on hand will be reduced. Forecasters called for a mild fire season in the region after the heavy rains from this past winter. They were right, as no large and destructive fires broke out.
