Jury deliberations are underway in the stabbing trial of a Santa Rosa resident previously convicted of taking a dead man’s skull. In this case, 27-year-old Robert Melvin Ross the Third is accused of stabbing a 66-year-old man at an apartment complex for low-income seniors in December of 2022. Ross, who defended himself during the trial, is charged with attempted murder, robbery, cruelty to an elder and mayhem. About a year before the alleged stabbing, Ross was placed on mandatory supervision after being convicted of being in possession of a memento from human remains.
