At least six cows were killed when a truck carrying cattle overturned in Lake County. It happened Sunday night on Highway 20, east of Clearlake and involved over 40 head of cattle. The majority of them were injured and could not stand. Some cows ended up on the road, which caused another crash with a passing motorist who suffered minor injuries. The cattle were transported to Broken Box Ranch in Williams, Colusa County. Six cows died at the scene but it’s likely that more have died since then. The truck’s driver fled the scene and didn’t return. The big rig belongs to Prince Trucking out of Antioch in Colusa County.
