Feeder Districts for Santa Rosa City Schools District May Merge

The Santa Rosa City Schools District’s nine feeder districts could be merging. Tomorrow, the Santa Rosa City Schools Board will hold a special meeting to analyze a study about a possible merger. Critics of the current situation say the nine feeder districts make for an unnecessary duplication of resources. They also say unification could save Santa Rosa City Schools money as it deals with declining enrollment, and would standardize instruction. More than 27-thousand students are enrolled in the feeder districts. The largest is the Santa Rosa High School District with more than ten-thousand students. The smallest is the Kenwood Elementary School District with 113 students.
