Cotati’s new police chief Chris Simmons is outlining his goals. Simmons says he wants to increase communication with the community, address theft and traffic issues, and focus on multifaceted crime prevention. Simmons has been Cotati’s police chief since February 12th, taking over for Michael Parish, who retired in December after 13 years as chief. Simmons, who grew up in Novato, attended Sonoma State and Meridian universities. He comes from the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office.
