A suspected car thief is still on the loose after leading authorities on a dramatic chase that went through Cotati. A California Highway Patrol officer tried to pull the driver over for running a stop sign on Todd Road in Santa Rosa Saturday night, but the driver took off. He later ran a red light and hit a car, injuring two innocent people inside. The suspect and his passenger, a woman, then ran to a nearby gas station in Cotati. The woman was arrested, but the man stole a second car at a gas pump and drove it at more than 100-miles-per-hour. A CHP helicopter lost sight of the car in a heavily wooded area and the chase was called off. A dog belonging to the owner of the second car was inside when it was stolen and has not yet been found.
