Elderly Man Near Petaluma Hit and Killed by Land Rover While Getting Mail

An elderly man was struck and killed by a Land Rover Monday night while crossing the street to check his mail, west of Petaluma city limits. Santa Rosa CHP officers responded around 8:20 p.m. to reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Skillman Lane. The CHP said there were no signs the Land Rover driver was under the influence. The Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office was expected to identify the man once his next of kin were notified. The CHP asked anyone with information regarding the crash to call the Santa Rosa CHP Office.
