Suspect in Hopkins Fire Convicted of Felony Arson

A Mendocino County man was convicted Thursday of starting the Hopkins Fire in Calpella that destroyed 30 homes and 257 acres in September 2021. 23-year-old Devin Lamar Johnson stood trial in Marin County Superior Court in front of a jury on Wednesday. They convicted Johnson of one count of felony arson and acquitting him of one count of felony aggravated arson. Johnson could be ordered to serve a maximum 21 years in prison when he returns on September 16th for sentencing.
