Voters in Santa Rosa will officially be deciding on two tax measures this November. On Tuesday, the Santa Rosa City Council approved placing a proposed update to the city’s business license tax on the ballot. If approved, the maximum tax charged to almost 13-thousand businesses in the city would be increased to ten-thousand-dollars. It would also create a new tier-based tax structure. It is expected to generate three-million-dollars per year. Voters will also decide whether to okay a two-percent increase to lodging taxes, which would largely affect hotels. The ballot measure, if approved, would increase the tax from nine to eleven percent.
