State Bill for Undocumented Immigrants for Home Loans Takes Another Step

A California bill allowing undocumented immigrants to qualify for first-time home buying loans is advancing. After passing the Senate Appropriations Committee last week, AB 1840 is facing a floor vote in the Senate. The bill would expand eligibility requirements for the California Dream For All Shared Appreciation Program — the state’s first-time homebuyer loan program. The term “first-time home buyer” would include undocumented immigrants, if the bill passes. The current legislative session ends August 31st.
