A Santa Rosa man previously arrested for lewd acts has been arrested for violating his probation. Last Thursday, a man was reported to have been loitering in the women’s clothing section, secretly photographing unsuspecting women as they shopped at the store in the 1900 block of Santa Rosa Avenue. Store agents recognized 43-year-old Joseph Simmons from an internal security bulletin and contacted police. Simmons left the store before the police arrived. He would later be arrested at his residence on Cypress Way.
Simmons was already on probation when back in May he was arrested for leaving bodily fluid on a car door handle. Because of that incident, Simmons’s probation was amended to include his prohibition from several retail businesses where he has historically committed many of his crimes.
