Local laborers want to be a part of the construction of the downtown civic center coming to the vacant 28-acre State Farm property in Rohnert Park. Earlier this week, Rohnert Park selected El Segundo-based CenterCal Properties to lead the development of the project. Now, representatives of Sonoma County’s skilled labor groups, including plumbers, carpenters, jointers, electrical workers, plasterers and cement masons, are asking the Rohnert Park City Council and the company to ensure local workers are hired. The project is estimated to cost 400-million-dollars.
