Santa Rosa Completes Purchase of Southeast Greenway for Future Central Park

Santa Rosa has completed the purchase of a two-mile strip of land that the city wants to transform into a central park. On Thursday, the city and its partners announced the completed purchase of the Southeast Greenway, which stretches from Spring Lake to Farmers Lane, off Highway 12. It marks a significant step in the process of transforming the land, which started 15 years ago. In May, the California Transportation Commission formally approved selling the 49-acre former state property to the city of Santa Rosa for a little more than one-point-eight-million-dollars. The property had been in escrow since then.
