Fifteen former and current workers at Napa Valley waste facilities are suing the companies for what they allege are dangerous working conditions and illegal practices. The lawsuit, filed in federal court, seeks over $100 million in damages. The plaintiffs claim they were exposed to toxic waste, forced to work with faulty equipment, and faced retaliation for reporting safety concerns. They also allege that the companies illegally disposed of contaminated wastewater, endangering the Napa River and surrounding environment.
The lawsuit names previous and current owners and operators of the Upper Valley Disposal Service site and the Clover Flat landfill. Waste Connections, the current owner, has not yet commented on the lawsuit.
