A 35-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire at a homeless encampment in Windsor on Monday. The fire caused a propane tank to explode.
Nichole Edwards faces felony arson charges, as well as drug-related offenses. A 55-year-old man, Michael Gilbert, was also arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and polluting a waterway.
The fire occurred in the 500 block of American Way and was quickly extinguished by firefighters. The investigation revealed Edwards as a suspect, and she was later apprehended. Both Edwards and Gilbert remain in custody.
