Rohnert Park To Update Bike & Pedestrian Safety Plan

Rohnert Park is updating its bicycle and pedestrian safety plan to make cycling safer and more accessible for residents.

The plan includes nearly 70 projects aimed at improving bike lanes, creating new bike paths, and enhancing pedestrian crossings throughout the city. The goal is to encourage more residents to choose cycling as a mode of transportation, especially those who currently feel unsafe biking on city streets.

The plan prioritizes safety on major thoroughfares like Snyder Lane, which serves several schools and has a high crash rate. The city is working with the Sonoma County Transportation Authority to finalize the plan by the end of February.
