Sonoma County’s Keep People Housed Program Showing Early Signs Of Success

Sonoma County’s Keep People Housed program, designed to prevent homelessness, has already assisted 47 households in its first month.

Funded by a coalition of public and private entities, the program provides financial assistance to cover back rent, utilities, and other essential expenses. While the program is showing early success, demand for assistance significantly exceeds initial expectations, highlighting a critical need for homelessness prevention services in the county.

The program targets individuals and families experiencing financial hardship, such as job loss or unexpected medical bills. Although the program has successfully helped prevent homelessness for 47 households, many more applications are being received than can be currently funded.
