NBA STAR WANTS TO HELP SAVE SSU SPORTS.

Two years ago, Jaylen Wells concluded a historic two-year run in Rohnert Park as the conference basketball player of the year at SSU. Jaylen became the first (and possibly the last) SSU player to play in the NBA. He is currently one of the favorites to win NBA Rookie of the Year with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Now, Jaylen is looking to get involved in saving the school’s athletic programs and could be enlisting the help of one of his star teammates. NBA All-Star Ja Morant has expressed his willingness to assist as well.

This week, Wells took to social media to show his support for the #SaveSeawolvesAthletics movement, which is starting to gain momentum after SSU announced on Wednesday that it would cut all its athletic programs. In just a few hours, the post garnered 156k views.

Listen to KSRO as this story in Rohnert Park continues to develop.
