Three Dead Following This Week’s Atmospheric River

The number of deaths attributed to the powerful atmospheric river hitting the North Bay this week is up to three.

A 58-year-old man from Cloverdale was killed in solo vehicle crash near Hopland on Thursday. It happened on southbound Highway 101. The California Highway Patrol confirms heavy rain was a factor in the crash. The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office announced the storm-related deaths of two other men on Thursday. One of the men was found dead on Wednesday afternoon, wedged inside a culvert and submerged in water northeast of Santa Rosa.

Another man was found dead on Thursday morning in a rural area west of Santa Rosa. His body was also submerged in water, 20 to 30 feet from the side of a road.
