Santa Rosa’s popular Mitote Food Park, facing closure due to nearby construction, has been granted a three-week reprieve, possibly longer.
Owner Octavio Diaz says the park, a vital community hub, will remain open until at least June 9th thanks to an agreement with Sonoma County. Construction on the Tierra de Rosas mixed-use development will continue, but access for food vendors will be maintained. While the park’s future beyond that date remains uncertain, Diaz is actively searching for a new location to keep the Mitote community together.
Vendors, who were initially told the park would close at the end of January, have been operating on a day-to-day basis since a brief, initial closure and subsequent reopening, hoping for continued community support.
