Rohnert Park Man Convicted of First-Degree Murder

A man from Rohnert Park is facing prison time after being convicted of first-degree murder.

A jury convicted 25-year-old Daniel Carrillo on Tuesday. The verdict comes after nine years of legal delays and a mistrial last year. Carrillo killed 18-year-old Kirk Kimberly in October of 2016 and buried his body on Sonoma State University property.

The two men were classmates at Rancho Cotate High School.

Jury deliberations started on Friday.
