On Friday, the Rohnert Park Police dispatch center received a 911 call reporting a robbery at the Pep Boys on Redwood Drive. The victim, an employee of Pep Boys, had just returned from the bank when a male subject jumped out of a car and ripped a bank bag from the employee’s hands. The suspect then jumped back into the waiting vehicle, which fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

R.P.P.D. officers responded to the scene and began their investigation. A license plate was obtained from the security cameras at the business. The investigating officer used Flock ALPR technology to track the vehicle to Daly City, where he notified D.C.P.D. They located the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop it. The vehicle fled, leading to a pursuit into the City of San Francisco. The suspect vehicle crashed during the pursuit, at which point four suspects ran from the vehicle on foot. San Francisco PD and Daly City PD were able to take three of the four suspects into custody, one of whom was the robbery suspect who snatched the bank bag in Rohnert Park. The bank deposit bag was located in the vehicle.

Rohnert Park officers went to Daly City, where they took custody of Myles Jerel Wilkerson (19), a resident of Oakland, CA. The 19-year-old was booked at the Sonoma County Jail for robbery and conspiracy. It was then discovered that Wilkerson is also a wanted felon out of Oakland. He is currently in custody at the Sonoma County Jail and is being held on $150,000 bail.
KSRO sends kudos to the City of Rohnert Park Police & Fire, Daly City PD, and SFPD for their work in getting this brazen criminal (and wanted felon) into custody in just a few hours.
