Two prominent Napa Valley wineries have abruptly closed their tasting rooms, signaling continued challenges within the California wine industry.
Twomey, owned by Silver Oak Cellars, shuttered its Calistoga and Philo locations, citing careful consideration for the decision. This comes after Twomey’s 25th-anniversary celebration. However, Twomey’s Healdsburg tasting room and winery facilities will remain open.
Meanwhile, Newton Vineyard in St. Helena has announced its permanent closure, attributing the decision to the lasting impact of the devastating 2020 Glass Fire.
The closure marks the end of a legacy for the vineyard founded by California wine pioneer Peter Newton.
