Today, the Santa Rosa City Schools Board of Trustees will meet to finalize a list of school closures.
On Wednesday night, the board approved the closure of three elementary schools. Today, it is expected to decide the fate of the district’s middle and high schools. The meeting, which is open to the public, is scheduled for the Lewis Early Learning Academy from 3 to 6 p.m.
Trustees say they are working to balance the district’s budget to prevent unnecessary layoff notices from being sent to hundreds of staff members next week.
