Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria Files New Lawsuit Against Federal Government

The Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria are filing a new lawsuit challenging the federal government’s recent approval of the Koi Nation’s resort-casino project near Windsor.

The lawsuit is aimed at the U.S. Department of the Interior, which the tribe claims violated its tribal rights and federal laws regarding environmental impacts. The Graton tribe filed a lawsuit back in November, in an attempt to delay the approval of the project. It proved to be unsuccessful.

The new lawsuit names new U.S. Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum.
