Three Bay Area Counties could Move into the Orange

California health officials are evaluating whether three Bay Area counties will move to the orange tier today. Right now, San Mateo County is the only local county in the moderate orange tier, according to the state’s COVID-19 tier system. After today, San Francisco, Santa Clara, and Marin counties could also make the move from the more restrictive red tier. This would allow indoor dining and places of worship to operate at 50% capacity. Retail stores could operate at 100% capacity, and gyms at 25%.
