A state-licensed naturopathic doctor in Napa has been arrested for selling “immunization pellets” to clients and sending them fake vaccination cards. Federal prosecutors allege that 41-year-old Juli Mazi gave patients pellets that contained a small amount of the SARS-CoV-2 virus triggering an antibody response and giving them “lifelong immunity to COVID-19.” As for the fake vaccine cards, she sent official COVID-19 vaccination record cards to these patients stating they had recevied the Moderna vaccine. A statement from acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of California Stephanie Hinds reads in part “Instead of disseminating valid remedies and information, Juli Mazi profited from unlawfully peddling unapproved remedies, stirring up false fears, and generating fake proof of vaccinations.” Mazi has been charged with one count of wire fraud and one count of false statements related to health care.
