Skylaer Palacios is stepping down from the Healdsburg City Council. Palacios announced her resignation as Monday’s council meeting came to a close, citing housing instability and her difficulty finding affordable living in Healdsburg. She also says her safety and mental health have been put in jeopardy since she’s been a councilmember. Palacios says she’s been harassed online, her mail has been opened, and people have messed with her car. Palacios was elected less than a year-and-a-half ago. She’s been an outspoken opponent of Healdsburg’s coronavirus vaccination mandate for people attending city council meetings. She announced she was unvaccinated last November.
