The Bodega Bay Fire Station will celebrate its grand opening tomorrow. Though not a new physical station, the Press Democrat reports that the event will symbolize the consolidation of the Bodega Bay Fire Department into the Sonoma County Fire District. Bodega Bay will now have five crew members per shift; two per ambulance and three per fire engine. This addition extends the Sonoma County Fire District from Bodega Bay along the lower Russian River into Windsor, forming a horseshoe around Santa Rosa and incorporating what was formerly Central Fire and Rincon Valley Fire. The ceremony is at 10 AM tomorrow with a reception and refreshments to follow the ribbon cutting.
