A new five-year plan to address homelessness in Santa Rosa has been approved. The city council unanimously voted on the Homelessness Solutions Strategic Plan this week which provides key strategies and actions to improve the City’s response to homelessness. The plan is in alignment with the regional system of care and the Sonoma County Continuum Care. The ambitious goal of the plan is to achieve “Functional Zero” homelessness in Santa Rosa by 2027.  That would mean the city prevents homelessness in most cases, and makes it a brief experience when it does happen. The strategies and actions outlined in the plan were shaped by an in-depth analysis of the current homelessness response within Santa Rosa. You can review the plan at SRcity.org/HomelessPlan.
