Construction of a new six-story, 168-unit apartment building in Downtown Santa Rosa is almost ready to begin. Demolition work to clear space on the half-acre site at 420 Mendocino Avenue is nearly done. The land has been home to several retail businesses through the years. Most of the units in the building will be smaller studio and one-bedroom apartments. There will also be space for a restaurant on the ground floor. The building is expected to be ready to open by the second quarter of 2025.
