The Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office is clearing two state parole officers of wrongdoing in connection with a shooting that left a man wounded. The man, who was allegedly armed with a box cutter, was shot in Santa Rosa last May. He was hit in the chest, abdomen and leg. The D.A.’s Office says the shooting was legally justified. Prosecutors say the man lunged at one of the officers with the blade before he was shot. The suspect was charged with attempted murder and assaulting a peace officer last July.
