A 114-year-old lighthouse along the Mendocino coast is operating fully once more. Last December, the historic Point Cabrillo Lighthouse had ceased working when the aging motor failed after being in operation since 1937. This caused the main British-built Fresnel lens to be shut down until repairs could be made while a backup beacon was used. But now the lens is working again as the motor has been overhauled along with the lens and the lamp. The lens is made of 90 glass prism pieces and stands about as tall as a human.
