An animal welfare activist could have been killed after storming a duck farm in Petaluma in 2019. That’s according to yesterday’s court testimony from the manager of Reichardt Duck Farm. One of the protesters was caught in processing equipment and dragged by the neck. Jurors were shown video of the mishap. The testimony was part of the trial of lead protestor Wayne Hsiung, who is facing trespassing and conspiracy charges after two protests at poultry farms in 2019. The animal welfare activists have said they were at the duck farm to free birds and shut down machinery.
