A former Santa Rosa nonprofit program manager is scheduled to be sentenced in January following his conviction last week on charges of sexually abusing two girls during a span of several years. On December 19th, a Sonoma County jury found Victor Magallon guilty of two counts of sexual abuse of a child and one count of assault on a minor. Jurors deliberated for a day following 10 days of testimony and arguments. Magallon, a 43-year-old Santa Rosa resident, is being held at the Sonoma County jail without bail. A January 5th hearing will focus on sentencing factors and identify the maximum amount of time in prison he faces. Magallon was a parent educator and court referral programs manager for Child Parent Institute, a Santa Rosa agency specializing in family education and mental health.
