A Ukiah man is dead after a drug overdose in Mendocino County Jail. Last Friday around noon, jail staff came across five inmates in the same housing module suffering from drug overdose symptoms. Deputies started life saving measures on the inmates, including the use of Narcan. The inmates were later transported to the hospital. One inmate, 40-year-old Artemio Ortega Reyes, died upon arriving at the hospital. An investigation into the overdoses is ongoing.
