Christina Rivera (County of Sonoma)
The authority of Sonoma County’s top appointed executive could be expanded today. The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors will vote on whether to increase the number of department heads the county administrator can directly supervise and appoint. If the change is approved, County Administrator Christina Rivera would supervise 16 department heads every day and would have appointing and firing abilities for eleven of those 16 positions. As it stands, Rivera directly oversees eight department heads. She would also be responsible for all department head performance evaluations, except those for four elected positions.
