At least 38 people are in trouble for causing a traffic nightmare in the Bay Area. That’s how many were arrested yesterday when protests over the war in Gaza sent the morning rush hour to a screeching halt. On the Golden Gate Bridge, demonstrators blocked all southbound lanes of Highway 101 and the CHP later closed off the northbound side. Oakland traffic was also disrupted with hundreds of protestors on both sides of Interstate-880. Some even put their arms into concrete-filled barrels which had to be cut to get them out. Both protests caused backups for miles and lanes didn’t start to reopen until around noon.
