California Congressman Josh Harder of Stockton wants to make it harder for PG&E and other big utilities to raise your rates. The moderate Democrat from the Northern San Joaquin Valley is introducing the “Stop The Hikes Act” to prevent utility companies like Pacific Gas & Electric from raising rates more than one time per year. The state’s largest utility has already raised rates twice this year, and the California Public Utilities Commission is currently considering PG&E’s request for a third price increase. In a statement, Harder says “enough is enough – you can’t keep raising prices on families.”
