The Sonoma County Water Agency’s board of directors voted Tuesday to increase wholesale water rates. The expected increase per household is $2-$3 per month, based on location and water usage. This impacts the cities of Cotati, Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Santa Rosa and Sonoma; the town of Windsor; and the Marin Municipal, North Marin and Valley of the Moon water districts. The raise in rates is to address infrastructure needs like corrosion control, replacement of aging pumps and valves, enhancements in water treatment processes and upkeep of water storage tanks.
