
Firefighters are gaining the upper hand on a brush fire that has destroyed a home east of Petaluma. The Gulch Fire has burned 20 acres of land and is 95 percent contained. And, all forward progress has been stopped. Cal Fire confirms the fire has destroyed one home and three outbuildings and damaged another structure. There are no reports of injuries.
Meanwhile, a one-and-a-half-acre brush fire in Fountaingrove is fully contained. The Crown Fire started just before five o’clock Wednesday afternoon. The Santa Rosa Fire Department had it under control in about 20 minutes. There are no reports of injuries or property damage and no evacuation orders were issued. The cause has not been determined.
