California’s eighth biggest city is in the national spotlight.  A travel magazine names Oakland the best place to eat, saying it has a “staggeringly diverse food scene.”  Condé Nast Traveler tallied up votes from its annual Readers’ Choice Awards.  The survey highlights the Temescal neighborhood for its soul food restaurant Burdell and “out-of-the-box” pizzas at Pizzaiolo’s.  The Fruitvale neighborhood also gets high marks for its taco trucks.
