A small plane that crashed off the Humboldt County coast was registered to a Santa Rosa resident.
The crash happened on Sunday afternoon, close to Shelter Cove Airport. One of the two men onboard was killed but it’s unclear if he was the owner. The surviving victim was stabilized and flown to a hospital in serious condition.
Authorities say the plane went into the ocean shortly after takeoff.
