Sonoma County deputies have made a record drug bust, seizing more than 500 pounds of methamphetamine after a ten-month investigation.
Detectives say the drugs, found in a San Jose apartment along with a gun and four-thousand-dollars in cash, were headed for Sonoma County distribution. Two suspects, 40-year-old Jose Cortez Morales and 47-year-old Adela Lamas-Quintero, were arrested and charged with multiple felonies.
Authorities estimate the meth could be worth up to ten-million-dollars on the street, making it one of Northern California’s largest seizures in years.
Deputies are still searching for another suspect who fled during the operation.
