New state test scores show Napa and Sonoma county students are improving in English, math, and science after the pandemic.
However, the gains are modest, and the North Bay region still trails the statewide average in all subjects. The Press Democrat says the data also reveals a persistent equity gap, with socioeconomically disadvantaged and Latino students scoring significantly lower than their peers.
State and county education officials say they are focusing on new initiatives to accelerate student learning and close these achievement gaps.
