Tens of thousands of Sonoma County residents are facing food insecurity due to the temporary suspension of federal SNAP benefits.
In response, Petaluma’s Committee on the Shelterless is stepping up. The Petaluma Argus-Courier reports the non-profit announced that its Mary’s Table kitchen is now providing free, hot meals seven days a week to anyone whose benefits have lapsed, regardless of housing status.
The CEO of COTS stated the goal is to prevent parents and seniors from going hungry.
Meals are available for pickup daily at 900 Hopper Street in Petaluma.
