The Santa Rosa City Council has selected a veteran Southern California official, Lori Ann Farrell, to temporarily lead the city as its next City Manager.
According to the Press Democrat, Farrell, who previously served as City Manager in Costa Mesa and held high-level financial positions in Long Beach and Huntington Beach, will step in on January 2nd, pending contract approval on December 2nd.
Farrell takes the reins at a critical time, as Santa Rosa faces a multi-year, multi-million dollar budget deficit that requires deeper cuts.
The city plans to launch a six-to-nine-month search for a permanent city manager in January.
