A renegotiated agreement between Santa Rosa and SMART to build an at-grade crossing at Jennings Avenue returns to the City Council today for consideration.
City staff say the new deal includes fairer indemnity language and could end a decade-long deadlock between the two agencies. Residents in a working-class neighborhood west of Coddingtown Mall have long faced long detours around the tracks to reach nearby schools, bus stations, and services.
If approved, the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit board will consider the license agreement on December 17th.
